Materiales

Craft · Measure · Finish

Every piece passes through my hands.

Iñaki Alejo — Bespoke Cabinetmaking

Decades of craft: measuring, designing, building, finishing and fitting. No middlemen, no assembly line.

From the first measure to the handover

One craft, five steps, one person accountable

  1. A folding rule and a notebook on the worktop, measuring the real space of a kitchen
    01/05

    Measuring

I come to your home and measure every gap against the real wall. I listen to how you use the space. A bespoke piece starts here, not on a catalogue drawing.

  2. A drawing of the piece beside wood and finish samples on the workshop table
    02/05

    Design

I draw the piece around you and around your home. You choose the woods, finishes and hardware. Nothing enters the workshop without your sign-off.

  3. A dovetail joint, a hand plane and a chisel on the bench, with wood shavings
    03/05

    Building

I build it myself in the workshop, with selected boards and timber. Every joint and every edge is made and checked by hand.

  4. Close-up of a premium green-lacquered door front with a brass handle
    04/05

    Finishing

I choose and tend the finish each piece asks for: premium lacquered finishes, veneers or oils. This is where the craft shows.

  5. A bespoke kitchen just fitted in a home, in the light from the window
    05/05

    Fitting

I fit the piece myself, adjusted to the millimetre. I check doors, drawers and edges before I hand you the keys.

Projects

Work that already lives in homes across Asturias

A small selection. Each project was made to measure for one particular home and family.

Preguntas frecuentes

¿No ves tu duda?

Write to me
Do you work to a fixed price?

Yes. Every project is agreed with a written quote, with each item spelled out. No “from…” prices, no extras that appear at the end.

Which area do you cover?

Asturias: Oviedo, Gijón, Avilés and the surrounding area. For projects beyond that, write to me and we’ll take a look.

How long does a project take?

It depends on the scope, and I state it in the quote. I take on a limited number of projects a year so I can commit to a date and keep it.

Can I choose the materials and finishes?

Yes. You choose the woods, boards, hardware and finish before I build. I show you samples and advise based on use and budget.

Do you only make kitchens?

No. I make kitchens, dressing rooms, wardrobes and bespoke furniture. Kitchens are the most common project, but every piece gets the same care.

Ready for
